Paradise Island (where Atlantis is located) is connected to Nassau by two bridges but is a bit too far to walk from the cruise terminal. Either by taxi - sharing a large van will cost around $10,00 per person (each way) - or with a ferry boat. Lastly, we did walk through a casino as we made our way in and out of the resort. We did not stay to play any of the games, but it was a large casino with slot machines, cards, roulette and the works.

There is also a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop and on some nights they hold a short parade through the area too. There are several sundry shops in the hotel that sell snacks and small grocery items, so we assumed we could buy some mixers there. So… well played, Atlantis – I brought my Tito’s back home with me. The resort features a great aquarium with incredible theming made to look like the sunken city of Atlantis. You’ll find enormous floor-to-ceiling fish tanks right in the lobby of the hotel. Then look for the tunnel into the “underground” and you can walk through the full exhibit, which ends outside near the waterpark. It seemed to be open all day and night, so you can just take a stroll through when it’s convenient. But it’s hard to beat the convenience of eating right inside the resort, so we tried a few different options on our stay. It was also a special trip for my son’s birthday, so we were in search of a good dinner place to celebrate.

The Royal Atlantis is the most expensive; if you’re an affluent personality and can afford $1000 to $2000 per night, go for the Royal Atlantis. The private cab is the best option for me; it costs $20 per person, and you can easily get it from East Royal Tower. Starting from the cruise port, you can take a scenic route along the waterfront, heading towards the Paradise Island Bridge. The bridge offers picturesque views of the harbor, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding area as you make your way to Atlantis. Upon arrival at Atlantis, the shuttle bus will drop you off at a designated area near the resort entrance.
During sunset, you can stroll on the beach, capture some of the best photos for your IG, and spend some quality time with your loved one. First, the attractive streets of this village are worth exploring, and secondly, the shopping with the coastal line is always a top-notch experience. But yes, if you’re into luxury shopping, Atlantis Bahamas is worth it. They’ve got loads of high-end stores, retail spots, and brands from around the globe. B&J is open after 2 pm on some days and before 6 pm to avoid long queues. There are smoothies, shakes, and other non-dairy products, so you can also try them.
For the most part, everyone working there was friendly and helpful. So I will chalk those reviews up to getting back what you give out, if you know what I mean. If you prefer to venture offsite for dinner, there are some other good options to be had nearby or in Nassau – and it will save you some money too.
There are some elite-class theatres where you can spend quality time with your loved ones and watch your favorite movie. There are multiple ways to reach Atlantis Paradise, so you can choose the most preferable one. Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Atlantis but there were some definite hits and misses throughout the weekend. Here are the things we loved, and the things we didn’t like so much.
It is absolutely a worthwhile visit and one that can either be done as a port adventure through the cruise activities or on your own. From the thrilling Aquaventure water park to the vibrant Atlantis Casino, there is something for everyone to enjoy. It’s important to keep in mind that walking to Atlantis may not be suitable for everyone. If you have mobility issues, limited time, or are carrying heavy luggage, you may want to consider alternative transportation options.
Try Margaritaville, The Poop Deck, or head over to the Fish Fry (one of the most popular Nassau activities) for some more local fare. Olives – Olives was the most expensive, and unfortunately the most disappointing dinner of our trip. We were hoping for great seafood, but it was really very mediocre.
